An emancipated Emily's list: Female finance bloggers edition

This is quite a politically charged week! Not only did we elect our new president on Tuesday, but on this day in 1893, Colorado was the first state to grant women voting rights by popular referendum. Additionally, Eleanor Roosevelt, a powerful woman in politics, passed away on this day in 1962. To celebrate powerful women and how far we have come, this roundup features posts from some of my favorite females in the personal finance blogosphere.

1. I've Paid Twice for This Already contemplates how much her reformed driving habits are reverting now that gas prices have dipped. Should we should keep scrimping on driving even if gas is back to being cheap?

2. My Open Wallet thinks it's OK when parents help their recent college graduates pay rent, especially when living in an expensive city. But giving them a clothing allowance? Now that's just a big pile of credit card debt waiting to happen.

3. Frugal Babe had a major health insurance scare. While it turned out to be a mistake that was fixed, she was almost out several thousand dollars overnight. This is why cutting back on credit card spending and instead building up an emergency fund is so important!

4. The Digerati Life has compiled a list of some of her best posts related to today's economic worries. Topics covered include how to get out of debt and how to sell your house during hard times.

5. Kacie at Sense to Save (who is just a few weeks shy of having her baby!) bought some shoes and then saw them cheaper on the store's Web site. She went back in, and they credited the difference right back to her debit card! Be alert for price adjustments, and you may reap some unexpected savings, too.

6. If you're hosting your family's Thanksgiving this year, you may be getting nervous about all the food expenses you'll incur. Lynnae at Being Frugal provides tips on having a Thanksgiving that won’t put you in the red.

7. Fabulously Broke acknowledges that women aren't always good negotiators but provides tips for negotiating the pay you deserve. This is especially important if you're trying to pay down debt!

8. Mrs. Micah discusses how important stay-at-home moms are when it comes to managing family finances. Many SAHMs are the ones who manage budgets, clip coupons and keep track of bills and debts.

9. Are you struggling to make ends meet and stay out of debt (or crawl out of debt) in this sagging economy? Simple Mom explains how you can cut your expenses and make additional income.

10. This post went up at the end of last week, but I really want to include it. Well-heeled With a Mission has created an ingenious new financial game for called Emergencyopoly and encourages you to play along! It will help you save up and pay down debt.
